Motor Accidents Compensation Amendment (Terrorism) Act 2003 No 68



An Act to amend the Motor Accidents Compensation Act 1999 to provide that the exclusion of acts of terrorism from the compulsory third-party insurance coverage under that Act and from claims against the Nominal Defendant will operate until a date appointed by proclamation.
2   Commencement
This Act commences on the date of assent.
The Motor Accidents Compensation Act 1999 is amended as set out in Schedule 1.
Schedule 1 Amendments
(Section 3)
[1]   Section 15A Exclusion of acts of terrorism from insurance coverage
Omit section 15A (3). Insert instead:
  
(3)  This section applies to an act of terrorism that occurs on or after 1 January 2002 and before such date as may be appointed by proclamation for the purposes of this section.
[2]   Section 35A Exclusion of acts of terrorism from claims against Nominal Defendant
Omit section 35A (3). Insert instead:
  
(3)  This section applies to an act of terrorism that occurs on or after 1 January 2002 and before such date as may be appointed by proclamation for the purposes of this section.
