Occupational Health and Safety Amendment (Police Officers) Act 2000 No 11



An Act to amend the Occupational Health and Safety Act 1983 with respect to police officers.
2   Commencement
This Act commences on the date of assent.
The Occupational Health and Safety Act 1983 is amended as set out in Schedule 1.
Schedule 1 Amendments
(Section 3)
[1]   Section 4 Definitions
Insert after section 4 (3):
  
(3A)  To avoid doubt, a police officer is, for the purposes of this Act:
(a)  an employee of the Crown, and
(b)  at work throughout the time when the officer is on duty at any place, but not otherwise.

23   Pending proceedings
Section 4 (3A), as inserted by the Occupational Health and Safety Amendment (Police Officers) Act 2000, extends to acts, matters or things that are the subject of proceedings commenced, but not finally determined, before the commencement of that Act.
