Statutory and Other Offices Remuneration (Judicial and Other Office Holders) Regulation 2024



2   Commencement
This regulation commences on the day on which it is published on the NSW legislation website.
Note—
This regulation repeals and replaces the Statutory and Other Offices Remuneration (Judicial and Other Office Holders) Regulation 2013, which would otherwise be repealed on 1 September 2024 by the Subordinate Legislation Act 1989, section 10(2).
3   Definitions
In this regulation—
office holder has the same meaning as in the Act, Part 3.
remuneration has the same meaning as in the Act, Part 3.
Note—
The Act and the Interpretation Act 1987 contain definitions and other provisions that affect the interpretation and application of this regulation.
4   Declarations of policy
For the Act, section 6AB(2)(a), the matters set out in this regulation are declared to be aspects of government policy that the Tribunal must give effect to when making a determination under the Act, Part 3 of an alteration in the remuneration to be paid to office holders.
5   Equal remuneration policy
For the Act, section 6AB(3), a policy of equal remuneration for persons, regardless of gender, for doing work of equal or comparable value is declared.
6   Temporary wages policy
(1)  For the Act, section 6AB(3), a policy that the Tribunal must not make a determination that has the effect of awarding an increase in remuneration that takes effect before 1 July 2025 is declared.
(2)  This section expires on 30 June 2025 at the end of the day.
7   Repeal and savings
(1)  The Statutory and Other Offices Remuneration (Judicial and Other Office Holders) Regulation 2013 is repealed.
(2)  An act, matter or thing that, immediately before the repeal of the Statutory and Other Offices Remuneration (Judicial and Other Office Holders) Regulation 2013, had effect under that regulation continues to have effect under this regulation.
