Drug and Alcohol Treatment Regulation 2022



1   Name of Regulation
This Regulation is the Drug and Alcohol Treatment Regulation 2022.
2   Commencement
This Regulation commences on the day on which it is published on the NSW legislation website.
Note—
This Regulation repeals and replaces the Drug and Alcohol Treatment Regulation 2017, which would otherwise be repealed on 1 September 2022 by the Subordinate Legislation Act 1989, section 10(2).
3   Definition
In this Regulation—
Northern Beaches Hospital means the NBH Operator Co Pty Ltd in its capacity as trustee of the NBH Operating Trust.
Note—
The Act and the Interpretation Act 1987 contain definitions and other provisions that affect the interpretation and application of this Regulation.
4   Regular inspections of treatment centres
For the Act, section 29(7), the principal official visitor must ensure that the official visitors visit each treatment centre under the Act, section 29(1) at least once each calendar month.
5   Prescribed transport officers
For the Act, section 20(5), definition of transport officer, paragraph (c), the following classes of persons are prescribed—
(a)  members of staff of St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney Limited,
(b)  members of staff of Northern Beaches Hospital,
(c)  persons employed or otherwise engaged by an entity that provides transport services for St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney Limited under a contract for services with St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney Limited,
(d)  persons employed or otherwise engaged by an entity that provides transport services for Northern Beaches Hospital under a contract for services with Northern Beaches Hospital.
6   Repeal and savings
(1)  The Drug and Alcohol Treatment Regulation 2017 is repealed.
(2)  An act, matter or thing that, immediately before the repeal of the Drug and Alcohol Treatment Regulation 2017, had effect under that Regulation continues to have effect under this Regulation.
