His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998.

1 Name of Regulation
This Regulation is the Privacy and Personal Information Protection (Transitional) Regulation 1999.
2 Commencement
This Regulation commences on 1 February 1999.

The explanatory note does not form part of this Regulation.
4 Construction of certain references
In the Privacy Committee Act 1975, or in any other Act (except the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998) or in any other instrument:(a) a reference to the Privacy Committee is to be construed as a reference to the Privacy Commissioner, and(b) a reference to a member of the Privacy Committee is to be construed as a reference to a member of the staff of the Privacy Commissioner.
